Q: How do mobile parking payments work?

A: The Pay and Display machines that are enabled for mobile payments are fitted with a blue button which is used for selecting the parking time required. Press the yellow button to activate the machine and to display the parking meter number. Call 0870 840 1000 and input the parking meter number using your mobile phone's keypad. Then follow the pre-recorded instructions. You will then increment the time period of parking required using the blue button. When you are happy with the value, press the green button to print out your Pay and Display ticket. Display this as usual in your vehicle. Your mobile payment is now fully registered with the system and will appear as a separate transaction on your bill (credit card).

Q: Where can I park?

A: Mobile enabled parking machines are identified by a blue button & mPARK instruction plate located on the front of the parking machine. Maps are provided below for each location:

Q: How fast is a mobile parking payment?

A: From waking up the machine and hitting the ring button on your phone to should take less than 40 seconds. It will then take a further few seconds to select the desired amount of parking and print out your ticket.

Q: How do I know that my mobile payment has gone through?

A: Once the machine is woken up and you hit the blue button to select the amount, followed by the green button to print the ticket, the payment has been registered. If you select the cancel button after waking up the machine, no payment will be registered.

Q: What happens if I phone the system while someone else is performing a cash payment?

A: The machine will be activated once the machine has completed the cash payment.

Q: How do I know that I am paying for parking from my account?

A: A personalised greeting will appear when the Pay and Display machine is woken up. This can either be your name or a customised greeting that you specify on registration.

Q: How am I billed for the mobile parking payments?

A: Each parking transaction will appear on your bill (credit card or debit card) for the period.

Q: I am not sure if I performed a parking transaction or not – how do I find out?

A: Using the details that were sent to you on registration you may log in to www.mPARK.com to browse your parking history. Alternatively you can call our Customer Service Desk at 0870 733 0073

Q: How does mPARK know that I am calling?

A: You need to have caller Id enabled on your mobile phone in order to be identified by the system. If you do not have caller Id switched on then the pre-recorded instructions will state this and hang up the call. Please contact your mobile operator for more details on how to enable caller Id on your mobile phone.

Q: How do I enable caller id?

A: There are two ways that caller id can be disabled. When you first bought your phone, if you asked your mobile operator to keep your number private then you will have to contact them in order to enable caller id. Caller id can also be disabled from your handset. Please refer to the manual for your handset for details on how to re-enable caller id.

Q: I would like my number private, is this possible?

A: To use mPARK it is necessary that we are able to see your caller id. However, if you would like to keep your number private for all other calls, you can use the number *31#0870 8401000 to call mPARK. Placing *31# in front of a number allows the recipient of the call to see your caller id even when you have caller id disabled on your handset. If caller Id is still not being received, even when using the *31# prefix, it means that your caller Id is being blocked completely by your network operator. You may have requested this when you purchased your phone. To turn this off you should contact your network operator customer services. You will still be able to specify no caller Id on your phone.

Q: Do I have to be registered to use mPARK?

A: Yes. You can either register through www.mPARK.com, by calling our Customer Service Desk at 0870 840 1000. If you register through mPARK.com or the Service Desk, you will have to supply credit card details and your parking transactions will appear on your credit card bill. Note that the web page where you enter your credit card details is secure, using https.

Q: Can I register with mPARK.com multiple times with one mobile phone?

A: No. Each mobile phone is only allowed register on mPARK.com once. You are also only allowed to use one credit card with this phone.

Q: Can I talk on the phone at the same time as I am making a payment?

A: No. You will be connected to the pre-recorded message system until the Pay and Display machine is woken up. You can then hang up and make other calls.
